Idealist or just plain stupid?

And so you might be thinking Heléne, you're an idealist. Idealist meaning what it mainly does in these times - a naive human being's way of looking at the wicked world and mankind. I object! Not of being one (an idealist) but to this seemingly narrow and cynical definition. Believing or dreaming, call it whatever you like, of a better world and inter-relating society must not make one into an idiot, not familiar with the ways of today's reality.

Or is it so that one should have to be plain stupid to believe in such things as Human Rigths, Equality and Freedom? No. I don't think so. And who are we to say we shouldn't take responsibility for the problems we've caused in the first place.

"Strange is our situation here on Earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to divine a purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: that man is here for the sake of other men."
-Albert Einstein
